Getting Started
Get up and running with VenTrack in minutes. Add your first vendor, run an evaluation, and review results.
Overview
VenTrack helps you manage third-party vendor risk through a structured workflow:
- Add vendors to your directory
- Screen vendors against global sanctions lists
- Send evaluations (questionnaires) to assess vendor security and compliance
- Review results and track risk scores over time
- Monitor contracts and spending
Step 1: Sign in and set up your organization
VenTrack uses organizations to keep your vendor data isolated and secure. After signing in, create or join an organization from the sidebar.
All vendors, evaluations, and documents are scoped to your organization — team members in the same org share access.
Step 2: Add your first vendor
Navigate to Vendors in the sidebar and click Add Vendor. Fill in the vendor details:
- Name — the vendor's company name (required)
- Category — e.g., Technology, Consulting, Cloud Services
- Contact person — primary point of contact
- Email & phone — vendor contact information
- Website — the vendor's website URL
- Status — Active, Inactive, or Under Review
Once added, VenTrack automatically runs a sanctions screening against OFAC, EU, UN, and Canada lists.
Step 3: Run an evaluation
Go to Evaluation Builder in the sidebar to create a questionnaire, or use an existing template.
- Create your questionnaire with sections and questions
- Navigate to the vendor's page
- Click Start Evaluation to assign the questionnaire
- The vendor (or your team) fills in responses
- VenTrack scores the responses automatically
See the Evaluations guide for details on building questionnaires and reviewing responses.
Step 4: Review the dashboard
The Dashboard gives you an overview of:
- Total vendors and their status distribution
- Upcoming contract expirations
- Pending evaluations
- Sanctions alerts requiring attention
